Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and decisions made by Boards of Education, our students have lost valuable education time and opportunities.
I strongly oppose any effort to move in-person learning back to virtual learning. It has been shown that in person learning provides the best opportunity for students to be successful.
My goal is to promote an educational system that welcomes and encourages parents to become involved and active in their child’s education. It’s become clear that school choice should be made available for every Maryland family that wants to participate. Parents should have every right to choose which school/type of school is best for their children’s education and ability to learn.
In 2021, I sponsored legislation along with my colleagues in the Harford County Senate Delegation to bring local control to the Harford County Board of Education. This legislation was ultimately passed in 2022, with this change we hope to see our Harford County parents have a stronger voice when it comes to decisions made by the Harford County Board of Education.
